Kate Garraway has shared a photo of the moment she screenshot husband Derek Draper, showing him her National Television Award.
The Good Morning Britain host, 54, was visibly emotional as she accepted the gong for authored documentary for her ITV programme, Kate Garraway: Finding Derek, which followed her partner’s devastating battle with coronavirus.
And, taking to Instagram, she gave fans a glimpse into her conversation with Derek, informing him of her NTA win.
In the snap, he could be seen smiling proudly at his wife, as he lay in bed.
’Wow. Thank you so so much,’ she captioned the post. ‘Have been in such an emotional daze all night I failed to get a single photo of me or the brilliant @flickerproductions team who made #findingderek @theofficalntas!!
‘But maybe this is the photo you most wanted to see anyway – Me FaceTiming Derek (via Darcey’s phone!) to tell him we had won! From him and from the bottom of our family’s hearts THANKYOU.
‘For all who are struggling on and holding on to hope – this is for you.

Derek was placed into an induced coma last March after being hospitalised with Covid-19.
He spent more than a year in hospital recovering from the condition, which impacted his entire body, and returned home this April to be with his wife, and their children, Darcey and Billy.
Kate later fronted a documentary on his battle with coronavirus, with Finding Derek becoming ITV’s most watched factual programme in years.
Speaking in her NTAs acceptance speech, she said how ‘brave’ it was for ITV to commission the special.
‘Thank you so much. It was a hugely brave decision of ITV I think to commission this,’ she said in her speech. ‘They didn’t really know what they were making. They didn’t know if it was a story about bereavement or about triumph.
‘Lucy [Wilcox, director and cinematographer] arrived in our home not knowing if she was seeing a family in grief or relief, and in the end, it was something between the two.
‘Thank you so much for voting. I wonder if the reason why you did is because our story is your story? I think we’ve all been touched by the pandemic, whether it’s livelihoods or mental health.
‘I just want to say to all the Darceys and Billys and Dereks, whatever you’re going through, however you’re affected, you’re not forgotten.’
‘Most of all Derek, who should be here who tell his story,’ she concluded. ‘Derek, you’re gonna get the chance. Believe. The hope is real. Thank you so much.’
