Following last year’s globe-trotting releases, for their first outing of 2021 New Zealand reissue label Strangelove look across the pond to Sweden and the works of jazz and blues drummer Sjunne Ferger.
Active between the late 70s and mid 80s, Ferger adopted an open-minded approach to composition and recording, fusing elements of myriad genres with beguiling results. These creations are on display across his ‘Childrens Mind’ LP, which moves effortlessly from enchanting ambient motifs to raw instrumentation and celestial synth-laced musings, all connected by a distinct dream-like quality.
‘Childrens Mind’ will be released on 2nd April. It precedes Sjunne Ferger’s ‘Mindgames’ LP reissued on Strangelove later in 2021.
